Desmond Peeples' writing appears in various publications and is anthologized in Best of Isele Anthology (Iskanchi Press) and the 2024 Emerge Anthology (Lambda Literary). From 2019 to 2022, Desmond was the founding editor of Mount Island, a literary magazine for rural LGBTQ+ and POC voices. Working for the Vermont Arts Council since 2020, Desmond has interviewed dozens of award-winning artists including Mary Ruefle, William Alexander, and Tillie Walden. Desmond holds degrees in writing from Goddard College and Vermont College of Fine Arts and has received fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center and Lambda Literary. Desmond was born in Vermont and lives on a bog near its highest mountain.

Desmond also makes music from time to time.
